What is Digitalization?
Turning interactions, business functions, models, and communication digital is known as digitalization. It leverages digitized data and processes to create a fully optimized supply chain. This is different from digitization, which is the process of moving to a digital business model, i.e. moving ledgers, purchase orders, and records onto computers. The two terms cannot be used interchangeably.
More efficient supply chain Digitalization creates jobs and greater supply chain visibility. Quicker adoption of web-based processes in the supply chain is also brought about by digitalization. It helps managers create better interdepartmental transactions.
Time saved, more profits Improved contextual intelligence, greater data accuracy lends businesses the ability to react quickly and save time and resources.
Mobility in the supply chain IT integration and hiring people with specialized knowledge in the particular area can usher supply chain mobility. Making the switch to tablets and mobile devices won’t keep managers chained to their desktops and laptops anymore.
This is a good time to be a customer. Yeah, really! Almost everything you need is an app away. Want a cab? Open Uber or Lyft or Didi or Ola, depending on your geography; want food reviews? Open Yelp or Zomato; want your house to be cleaned? Open a home services app.
